UCSB to be Featured on ESPN3 in Saturday's Northridge Match

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – With first place on the line, UC Santa Barbara will be featured on ESPN3 when they visit Cal State Northridge this Saturday. The second place Gauchos (9-2) will challenge the conference leading Matadors (12-1) as the regular season approaches its final two weeks.

The broadcast will be online only and can be found here. Trent Schlom will be calling the play-by-play, while two-time Manhattan Beach Open winner Whitney Pavlik will handle the color commentary.

Both teams are coming off sweeps from Thursday night, as UCSB blanked UC Davis on the road, while CSUN successfuly defended home court with a 3-0 win against Cal Poly.

UCSB dealt Northridge its lone loss of Big West play last month in the Thunderdome with scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-15. Ali Spindt led the Gauchos with 12 kills and nine digs in the match, while the team edged the Matadors the net with 10 team blocks to seven. The Gauchos also held Northridge to just a .170 kill percentage on the night.
