The UC Santa Barbara women's volleyball program has announced the dates for its upcoming summer camps.
UCSB will host an advanced residential camp from July 18-20, along with day camps from July 21-24 and a skills clinic on July 25.
All the camps will be led by 2013 Co-Big West Coach of the Year Nicole Lantagne Welch along with assistant coaches Kolby O'Donnell and Chris Seiffert, and current UCSB players.
The Gauchos are coming off one of their most remarkable seasons in recent years after clinching a share of the Big West Title and earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament. It was the first time since 2005 that UCSB was crowned conference champion, while the team's 13 league victories were the most since 2004. Perhaps the most memorable win came against No.5 Hawai'i when the Gauchos edged the Rainbow Wahine 3-2 in front of 7300 fans at Honolulu.
For individual accolades, UCSB had five players make the all-conference team. Most notably, Ali Spindt was named the Freshman of the Year as well as First Team All-Big West after leading the team in kills. Seniors Leah Sully, Katey Thompson, and freshman Ali Barbeau were also named to the first team, while middle blocker Phoebe Grunt was an honorable mention.
