Caitlin is one of the most mentally tough volleyball players to be recruited by UCSB and will compete as a libero. She has tremendous leadership qualities and will step into that role immediately. Caitlin will also use her great arm swing to compete as an outside hitter. High School
Played at La Costa Canyon High School under coach Ed Machado...Helped the Mavericks to back-to-back Palomar League Championships in 2005 and 2006 and three consecutive CIF Division I titles from 2004-06...During the 2006 season she earned First Team All-CIF and First Team All-Palomar League accalaim after leading her team with 367 kills and recording 52 blocks, 352 digs and 45 aces...Earned several accolades from the local press during her senior campaign including First Team North County Times and Second Team Union Tribune...Garnered Athlete of the Week honors from both papers as well...Earned all-tournament at the Durango Tournament and earned her team's Captain Award, both in 2006...Was First Team All-Palomar League and Second Team All-CIF in 2005...Also earned the Maverick Award during her junior year...Was named All-Academic from 2004-06...Was a four-year honor roll student.
