STOCKTON, Calif. - Senior center Sarah Kovach set a new UCSB single-game scoring record with seven goals to help the Gauchos to a 13-6 victory over Pacific on Saturday afternoon. The Gauchos came out of the gates firing with Kovach scoring the game's first three goals within the first four minutes of play. Sophomore defender Katlin Kubas tacked on another to give UCSB a 4-0 lead with 2.38 in the first period. Pacific got on the scoreboard with 1:12 left in the first period with junior Kellie Fletcher scoring from eight meters out to pull the Tigers to within three after the first period.

After the high-scoring first period, defense was the name of the game in the second quarter. Senior attacker Allie Carkin scored the lone goal of the quarter to give the Gauchos a 5-1 advantage heading into the half.

The Tigers struck first in the third period with a goal from Virginia McConnell to pull Pacific to within three goals at 5-2 with 6:08 left in the third period.
