Beechan ran regularly on the traveling squad as a true freshman...Was 37th at the Big West Championships with a time of 22:09.70 over 6k, which scored as the fifth position for the Gauchos...Her time at Pre-Nationals was 22:56.6...Competed at the Stanford Invitational and finished 66th with a time of 23:00 over 6k...Took 20th in the early-season Aztec Invitational, and was the second Gaucho across the line with her time of 18:34 over 5k...Opened the season with a fourth-place showing at the Lagoon Invitational; her time of 18:21 over 5k was again second-best for the Gauchos.

High School

Beechan was Sunbelt League Champion in the 2006 and 2007 cross country seasons...Was All-League from 2005-2007 and All-Riverside County from 2006-2007...In track, she was 1600m and 3200m League Champion in 2007 and 2008...She qualified for CIF Finals in the 1600m...Also participated in a half-marathon, completing the 13.1 mile course in 1 hour 36 minutes.


Majoring in biology and hopes to become a physical therapist...Her hobbies include photography, mountain biking, camping, and fishing...Would like to thank her brother Nick for being a long-time running buddy and an inspiration, her parents for their continual support, and her high school coaches for believing in her.
