Senior harrier Stephanie Rothstein won the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis Saturday to lead the Gauchos to a first place finish, one of the top performances in team history. Rothstein posted a winning time of 21:12.45 as UCSB totaled 87 points for the victory. The Phoenix, Ariz. native became the first Gaucho to ever win the event. Unranked UCSB defeated No. 9 Arizona State, which won the race last season. The field was comprised of 30 teams, nine of which advanced to the 2005 NCAA Championships. Rothstein returns to action Oct. 14 at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind.
