SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara junior forward Ahinga Selemani picked up a pair of honors on Monday after scoring in both of UCSB's games last week, repeating as the Big West Offensive Player of the Week while also earning a spot on the College Soccer News Team of the Week.

The speedy striker scored the opening goal for UCSB in both games as part of an undefeated 1-0-1 week. The pair of scores extended Selemani's goal-scoring streak to four games, a career best. He is the second Gaucho this year (Kevin Feucht) with a four-game goal streak, and the third in the past two years (Nick DePuy).

Thanks to his exploits, UCSB remained atop the Big West North division with an undefeated 4-0-2 mark, five points clear of second place UC Davis. The Gauchos are 8-5-2 overall this season.

Against the Hornets, Selemani finished off a deflected through ball from DePuy in just the sixth minunte of an eventual 1-1 draw. Then against the Mustangs, Selemani took advantage of a failed clearance by snatching the ball from a trio of Cal Poly defenders before finishing low to the keeper's left for a 33rd minute equalizer, setting up Feucht's second half PK winner.

For the season, Selemani now has a career-high six goals, second-most on the team and fourth-most in the Big West Conference. He also is tied for the league lead with three game-winning goals.

He is the second Gaucho this year to be named to CSN's Team of the Week, following Kevin Feucht who was honored on Sept. 5 after recording five combined points (two goals, one assist) in a pair of wins over San Diego and St. Mary's.

UCSB next travels to UC Davis on Wednesday in a battle for North supremacy, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

The Gauchos return home after that for a Prime Ticket-televised showdown with Blue-Green rival Cal Poly on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 8:00 p.m. For tickets to that pivotal matchup, call 805-893-UCSB or shop online here. UCSB defeated the Mustangs 2-1 last Saturday in front of a sell-out crowd of 11,075 at Spanos Stadium in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
