2017-2018 Track

Competed in nine meets for his first season as a Gaucho. Set a season's best in the decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational to take 5th overall in 6263 points. Set a new personal best in the pole vault at the Cal Poly Dual with a 3.90m (12' 9 1/2") jump. Finished off his season with a tenth place finish in the javelin and an eighth place finish in the decathlon at the Big West Conference Championships with a personal best score of 6392 points, clawing his way to a scoring position after being in 13th after the first day of the decathlon. En route to his eighth place finish, he'd set four season bests while capping it off with a personal best in the 1500m at 4:31.46. 


Parents are Gary and Lynn Cheek...Majoring in environmental studies/pre-PA...Career goal is to become a physicians assistant...Athletic goals are to place on the podium at the Conference Meet and qualify for regionals...Hobbies include being an active member in CRU, staying active, and movies...Fun fact: loves wakeboarding/water skiing.
