Took first and second in the 1500m and 3000m respectively at the Cal Poly Dual. Took the Big West Conference Championships by storm with a jaw dropping triple, garning three fourth places finishes in the 1500m, 5000m, and steeplechase, having only 20 minutes rest in between the steeplechase and the 1500m preliminaries to qualify for the 1500m final the next day in the process. Her 5000m time of 16:56.33 would end up being a new personal best, clocking over a minute faster than her time from last year's conference meet.

2016 Cross Country

Competed in five competitions for her debut season in the Gaucho uniform. Opened up at the Lagoon Meet as the No. 2 scorer for the Gauchos, finishing in 14th with a 5K time of 18:34.9. Dropped an eye opening performance in her first 6K at the UC Riverside Invitational as the No. 3 scorer by running 20:59.7 for 14th overall. Subsequent injury and sickness unfortunately plagued a good portion of her season afterwards, forcing Camarena to sit out a few key meets and record a subpar performance at the Big West Conference Championship. However, she was able to rally back in her last meet of the season as the No. 2 scorer again for the Gauchos with a solid 82nd place finish at the NCAA West Regional Meet in 21:20.9.
