SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UCSB Gaucho Classic got underway on Friday, with four games being played through without any significant delays. However, due to weather conditions, Saturday's four games have been canceled. Furthermore, there is a very low chance that Sunday's two games will be played.

The original 12-game schedule met its first cancellations with Thursday's doubleheader between UCSB and Bowling Green. The remaining six games appear set to meet the same fate following heavy rainpour which began late Friday and lasted well into Saturday morning.

Gaucho softball heads back on the road next week for six games at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic. 10 days later, UCSB will be back for its next home games in a Tuesday noon doubleheader against Western Carolina on Mar. 12.
