FULLERTON, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara softball team dropped its eighth-straight game in a 10-0 loss to Cal State Fullerton in five innings.
With the loss, UCSB falls to 8-26 on the season and 5-8 in Big West play.
With the bases loaded in the first, Fullerton's Julia Valenzuela singled up the middle to bring in the first two runs of the game.
A Gaucho error allowed another run to come in in the next inning as the Titans improved their lead to 3-0.
KK Humphreys hit a two-run homer to left field in the third inning to tack on two more runs.
Fullerton completed the scoring in the fourth inning with a two-RBI double from Daisy Munoz and a three-run Valenzuela home run.
The game ended after the fifth-inning due to the run-rule.
The Gauchos were held to seven hits, spread amongst freshman shortstop Madelyn McNally, junior second baseman Maci Fines, junior left fielder Sammy Fabian, junior first baseman Rayna Cohen, sophomore catcher Teah Thies, sophomore right fielder Ally Nodohara, and freshman third baseman Ashley Donaldson.
