How It Happened
• CSUN opened scoring in the first with a single run, but the Gauchos responded with two in the bottom half to take a lead 2-1.
S• anta Barbara limited the Matadors to a single hit in the second. When it was their turn at bat two back-to-back singles came from Thomas and Denehy to put the Gauchos in scoring position. A Fines single to left center plated Thomas and Denehy was able to advance to third on the throw. Fines then got caught in a pickle between first and second, giving Denehy enough time to score another run, moving the score to 4-1.
• The Matadors found two more runs in the third and fifth to take a 5-4 lead.
• UCSB notched its fifth and final run in the sixth. Fines got on base after getting hit by a pitch and Cohen followed after getting walked. Thies came to bat next and slapped a single that popped out of the infield after hitting the first baseman's glove, allowing her to advance to second and tally an RBI as Fines came around to score.
• Unfortunately, the Matadors found two more runs in the seventh and the game ended at 7-5.

• Left fielder Tyler Goldstein tallied a hit and her 17th RBI of the season, setting a new career-high.

• The Gauchos matched their opponents with 10 hits, but were unable to translate them into runs, leaving seven Gauchos on base. The remaining four UCSB hits came from Lucy Mogan, Chloe Stewart, Cohen, and Thies.
How It Happened
• CSUN once again was the first to get on the board, scoring a single run in the top of the first.
• Unfortunately, Matador walks hurt the Gauchos in the third and fourth inning as CSUN scored four runs on three hits, increasing their lead to 5-0.
• Gaucho bats were slow to ignite, but once they did they found six runs in the fifth inning - giving them a one-run lead. Siegel was first at bat and led her team off with a single up the middle before advancing to third when pinch hitter Lucy Mogan launched the ball out to left center to tally a double and cause a pitching change for CSUN. Three back-to-back hits came next from Mills, Thies, and Goldstein to plate three more Gauchos and move the score to 6-5.
• As in the first game, walks hurt the Gauchos as they allowed two back-to-back walks put a Matador in scoring position before a single hit brought her home to score another run and tie the game.
CSUN found a second wind in the top of the seventh, where they would have their best offensive inning. Six runs were scored on five hits and two walks, giving the Matadors a six-run lead.
• When their turn at-bat came, the Gauchos weren't able to produce another hit or run and the game ended 12-6.
