Track and Field Preps For Competition At Fresno State Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. (April 27, 2023) – The UC Santa Barbara Men's and Women's Track and Field teams will be back in action after a weekend off from competition. The teams will head North to the Fresno State Invitational hosted by the Bulldogs. 

The Gauchos will hit the track with all of their athletes competing at this event. The last time the teams competed were at the Mt. SAC Invitational, the Pacific Coast Invitational hosted by Long Beach State and the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. Eitan Goore had a record-tying performance as he tied the UC Santa Barbara record in the pole vault with a mark of 5.25 meters. Javelin throwers Malia Benson and Chase Tarr had strong performances in their events to represent the Gauchos at Mt. SAC while the distance runners broke their personal-bests at the Bryan Clay Invite. 

The meet will kick off on Friday, April 28, with men's and women's hammer competing before the rest of the events take place on Saturday, April 29 with a 10 a.m. start with field events and a 1 p.m. start for running events.
