SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (May 2, 2023) – Ila Lane was recognized as Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table. Lane carried a 3.79 grade-point average while finishing her career as a Gaucho with over 1,000 points scored and ranking third on the career rebounds list.

"I'm really proud of Ila and her accomplishments on and off the floor," said Head Coach Bonnie Henrickson. "She's a better human being and woman than she is a basketball player and student, and that says a lot."

In the classroom, Lane was named to the Dean's Honor Roll six times, while earning Big West Academic Honors. Lane was also named to DI-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete Team a few weeks ago. The senior carries a 3.79 grade-point average as a sociology major with a minor in education.

"I'm grateful for my time here because UC Santa Barbara has been an amazing growing point for me throughout my journey," said Lane. "I want to thank my family, and especially my UCSB family for believing in me and everything I do on and off the court."
