SEATTLE, Wash. – The Gauchos closed out their first Women's Indoor Track meet today with another round of exceptional performances at Washington's Dempsey Indoor Center. They showed out in a number of events to finish up their first test of the season.
They had a masterful performance in the 4x400m Relay, placing second overall with a time of 3:51.05. Sophia Pardo, Jessica Swalve, Maddie Conte, and Aoife Hernon joined forces to dominate on the track and clinch the silver spot.
Junior Aoife Hernon also stood out in the 400m, placing fourth out of 40 with her time of 56.65. Sophia Pardo and Abby Conti followed up with times of 58.38 and 59.43, respectively.
Jessica Swalve threw in the Shot Put, putting up 11.35m with her attempt. Madison Pelfrey did well in the pole vault, achieving 3.45m in the event.
The Gauchos will return to the course next week for the Riverfront Invite + Multis hosted in Spokane. After that, they have a couple weeks to train for their return to the University of Washington in the Husky Classic on Feb. 9 and 10.
