Gauchos Prepped for Waves and Tritons

MALIBU, Calif. - After almost a month off, UC Santa Barbara Swim resumes their season on the campus of Pepperdine this Saturday. The men and women will face Big West foe UC San Diego, with the women also dueling the host Waves. 

 

LAST TIME OUT

On Oct. 19, four Gauchos competed in the MPSF Open Water Championships 5K. Every competitor from Santa Barbara finished within the top ten of their respective race. Enya Linson, Kyle Brill, Connor Martilla and Owen Berry will be rejoined by their team in the pool this weekend.

 

SCHEDULE

The meet schedule will run as follows:

200 medley relay

1650 freestyle

200 freestyle

100 backstroke

100 breaststroke 

200 butterfly

50 freestyle

break

100 freestyle

200 backstroke

200 breaststroke

500 freestyle

100 butterfly

break

200 IM

200 freestyle relay

 

Fans who cannot attend will be able to access a livestream through OVERNGHT by purchasing a subscription.

 

SCOUTING THE WAVES AND TRITONS

FOR THE WOMEN

The women's team already competed against Pepperdine earlier this season at the Roadrunner Invite on Oct. 12. The Waves placed fifth with the Gauchos taking second. Pepperdine's last meet was against fellow 805-school Westmont on Oct. 26 – which resulted in a win. 

 

UC San Diego women's swim is currently 1-0 in conference play following their defeat of UC Davis.

 

FOR THE MEN

Santa Barbara's men will face the Tritons. The squad boasts one victory so far on the season which came against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Oct. 19.
