Gauchos Bounce Back to Split Day One Against Tritons

SANTA BARBARA, Calif — The UC Santa Barbara Softball team  opened their series against UC San Diego with a split. After dropping the first game narrowly 3-2, they bounced back with a dominant 6-4 win.

GAME ONE: GAUCHOS 2, TRITONS 3

The Gauchos then held the Tritons scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning. UC Santa Barbara scored three runs in the frame, buoyed by a two-RBI double from Jazzy Santos, which brought the Gauchos lead to 5-0.

Santa Barbara held UC San Diego scoreless before building their lead to 6-0 in the fourth inning. The Gauchos scored once on an RBI single again off the bat of Jazzy Santos. The Tritons put four runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but UCSB still held on for the 6-4 win.
