Berkeley, Calif. — The Gauchos were unable to overcome Cal's early lead and ultimately fell 4-3 to the Golden Bears on Sunday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Bears surged ahead in the early stages of the match, earning 6-0 and 6-1 victories courts two and three with competitive doubles play. The No. 46 ranked doubles pair of
Gianluca Brunkow and
Pablo Masjuan were leading their match 5-4 when Cal clinched the point.
The Gauchos aimed for a comeback in singles action, but Cal maintained their momentum, clinching the match with three consecutive straight-set victories on courts six, three, and four. Although Cal had already secured the overall victory, UC Santa Barbara continued to fight, taking three singles wins of their own.

Pablo Masjuan defeated #75 Ryder Jackson, in an impressive comeback after dropping the first set.
Gianluca Brunkow contributed one final point for the Gauchos in a closely contested match, taking the third set in a 7-5 tiebreaker.
