SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team opened their 2025 slate at the Arnhold Tennis Center today with a 4-3 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys. After taking the doubles point, the Gauchos got three straight-set wins in singles to start the season off with a victory.
THE MATCH
Final: UC Santa Barbara 4, Oklahoma State 3
Records: UC Santa Barbara 1-0, Oklahoma State 0-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles success gave the Gauchos early momentum as they secured the point. No. 37 Gianluca Brunkow and Dominique Rolland took the first win of the day on court one with Charlie Underwood and Conrad Brown earning their doubles victory directly after and putting the Gauchos ahead 1-0.
As singles got underway, No. 65 Diogo Morais would down his opponent in straight sets on court four to give the Gauchos an early boost. The Blue and Gold would clinch the win across the next two finishes with No. 94 Dominique Rolland following Morais' lead with a win in straight sets as well. Freshman Charlie Underwood left the Cowboys in the dust with a lights out win in his first spring season appearance. The Cowboys would take the next three points but it would not be enough to take home a win as the Gauchos came away with their first victory of the season.
