LA JOLLA, Calif. – The No. 43 UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team defeated UC San Diego on the road Friday afternoon. After initially dropping the doubles point, the Gauchos rallied in singles to take four courts in straight sets, clinching the 4-1 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons took the early lead in doubles with the first win on court three over Diogo Morais and Sam Rappaport. The Gauchos got back in the running with a 6-3 win on court two by Gianluca Brunkow and Lucca Liu. The Tritons defeated Conrad Brown and Dominique Rolland, 6-4, to earn the doubles point. 

In singles, the Gauchos bounced back quickly with No. 79 Gianluca Brunkow battling for a 6-3, 7-5 win on court one. Dominique Rolland pushed the Blue and Gold ahead with a swift 6-4, 6-1 victory on court two. In the fourth position, No. 110 Diogo Morais defeated his opponent 7-5, 6-1 as the Gauchos looked for just one more point. Matei Gavrea brought the victory home on court six with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win. 

Lucca Liu and Conrad Brown were both ahead in their respective matches when the Santa Barbara secured the win. Liu led 6-5 in the second set after a dominant 6-2 first set. Brown headed into a tiebreak for the second set after earning a 6-3 win in the first.
