SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Men's and Women's Swim teams have announced the 2025-26 schedule as they prepare to embark on another year in the Big West. The Gauchos dive right into the season with two invite-only meets kicking off in October.
October 3-4, the Gauchos will head to Stockton, California, for the University of Pacific Invitational, where they will take on the hosting University of Pacific, Stanford, Cal State Bakersfield, California Baptist University, and Seattle University, starting at 10 am both Friday and Saturday.
A week later, UC Santa Barbara will head back down the coast for the UC San Diego Invitational. The foes that weekend will consist of hosting UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, and last but not least the University of Hawai'i.?
Our teams will be heading back to Isla Vista for the following weekend for a quick turnaround. The Blue and Gold will be back in town on October 17 for Alumni Weekend. However, on the 18 of October, the Gauchos will head down Highway 101 to Long Beach for the 2025 MPSF Open Water Championships.
The Gauchos will get a week off before they have to be in Riverside on the 31st in order to compete in the Cal Baptist Invitational, along with the University of Denver and San Diego State.?
After November 1, the men and women have two weeks off to prepare for November 14. The Gauchos snap back into action in Malibu, California, against UC San Diego and our host Pepperdine in a three-team meet starting at 5 pm. One week later, the Blue and Gold arrive in Annapolis, Maryland, for the Navy Invitational from November 20 through the 22. On return from Maryland, the Gauchos' 2025 leg of this season will be over. This gives the Blue and Gold about a month and a half to prepare for the second half of the season.
On January 10, the women's team will be at UCLA taking on Iowa, UCLA, and Utah. January 19, both men's and women's teams will be in town while UOP and UC Davis trek down I-5 to face the Gauchos. At the end of that week, on Friday, January 24, the Gauchos will head to Claremont Makenna College for a head-to-head meet starting at noon. Rounding out a busy January schedule, on January 30-31 the Blue and Gold host the UCSB invitational, where Westmont and Fresno Pacific will be in town.
The Gauchos will have 10 days to prepare for the Big West Championships in Houston, Texas, taking place from February 11 to 14. Following February's Conference Championship Meet, NCAA Women's Championships will run from March 18 - 21, while the NCAA Men's Championships will take place from March 25 - 28. Both the Women's and Men's NCAA Championships will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, at Georgia Tech University.
