TULSA, Okla. – The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team sent two student athletes to the ITA All-American Championships this past week.
Diogo Morais and
Dominique Rolland each earned wins in the round of 64.
QUALIFYING ROUND
Both Morais and Rolland earned wins in the round of 64. Morais, the seventh seed, won in straight sets, including blanking his opponents in the second set, ultimately winning 7-6 (5), 6-0. Rolland, the 17
th-seed, also defeated his opponent in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the round of 32 with teammate
Diogo Morais.
Morais' run would come to an end in the round of 32 after losing in straight sets to an opponent from N.C. State. Rolland, on the other hand, battled his way to a three-set victory. He would take on a familiar face, Cosme Rolland De Ravel from TCU whom he defeated a week earlier in The Battle of the Bay Classic. Rolland once again beat the 12
th-seeded player. After going down 6-3 in the first set, the senior won two tie-breaking sets, 7-6 (3) and 7-6 (4) to advance to the Main Draw of the ITA All-American Championships.
MAIN DRAW
In the Main Draw Rolland would fall in straight sets during the opening round, 7-6 (4) 6-3, which slots him into the consolation round. After just three games in the opening set, the senior was forced to retire, and his run would come to an end.

Select individuals will head down the 101 to compete in the Sherwood Collegiate Cup in Thousand Oaks. The event will take place from Friday, Sept 26 – Sunday, Sept. 28.
