CHICAGO, Ill. (Sept. 25) –  Making the trip to the Midwest, the UC Santa Barbara Cross Country teams competed in the 47th annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago. Lining up against programs across the country, both the men's and women's squads earned third place team finishes, with Gauchos placing inside the top 10 on both sides.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the women's 6k, sophomore Addie Oversmith led the Gauchos with a top-10 finish, crossing the line in 20:56.78. Jordin Lieberman followed close behind in 12th with a time of 21:02.03, while Sierra Gill finished next with a personal best 21:14.73. Ryann Strawn (21:16.16) and Virginia Knight (21:21.50) rounded out the scoring five with personal bests of their own, helping Santa Barbara total 71 points for a third place team finish.

Senior Manny Correia once again led Santa Barbara in the men's 8k, finishing seventh overall with a personal best time of 24:29.74. Will Mulliken followed in 11th at 24:38.02, with Camden Luecht close behind in 13th at 24:39.55. Parker Stickney finished next for the Gauchos with a personal best 24:50.96, while Nate Osborn rounded out the scoring five in 24:53.79. The Gauchos totaled 51 points to secure bronze.

UP NEXT
Santa Barbara will have three weeks to recover and train for the Highlander Invitational on Saturday, October 17 for the last meet of the regular season. The Gauchos will return to Riverside for the Big West Championships, hosted by UC Riverside on October 31.
