2015: UCSB's starting catcher for the entire year, made 54 appearances on the season with 52 starts ... Made all his starts behind the dish ... Batted .192 for the campaign with a .247 OBP, .251 slugging percentage, and 22 RBIs ... Picked off six runners, most among Big West catchers and second to teammate Justin Jacome among all conference players ... Had the fewest stolen base attempts against among starting Big West catchers to end the regular season (28), finishing with the best caught stealing rate as well (42%) ... Had two hits in five bases-loaded ABs for a .400 batting average ... Recorded multiple hits on four separate occassions ... Had a nine-game hit streak from Mar. 7-24 ... Hit the game-winning single in a 3-2 victory over Cal State Fullerton on May 10 ... Laced a tie-breaking double off the left field wall to give UCSB a 3-2 win over UC Davis on May 1 (it was starting pitcher Dillon Tate's birthday that day, quite the present from his catcher, as it preserved a victory for him) ... Went 2-4, scored a pair of runs, and hit a mammoth double over the head of the UCR center fielder in a 20-2 win over the Highlanders on May 21 ... Went 0-3 in the Lake Elsinore Regional hosted by UCSB, hitting a sac fly for an RBI against USC ... Was selected by Colorado Rockies in the 27th round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft with the 797th overall pick.
2014: Entered 14 games as a junior, getting eight starts (all at catcher) ... Team went 4-3-1 in his starts ... Put up a slash line of .304/.429/.435 with seven hits, eight runs scored, three doubles, four RBIs, three walks, and eight strikeouts in 23 at-bats ... Batted .500 (6-12) in conference play ... Made two relief appearances on the mound, allowing two runs in 1.2 innings pitched ... Went 3-4 with two runs and a stolen base at UC Davis on May 23 ... Recorded doubles in back-to-back starts on Apr. 14 against BYU and Apr. 26 against UC Riverside ... Had a career-high three RBIs in the BYU game ... Batted .333 with runners on base ... Reached base in exactly half his leadoff at-bats (4-8).
2013: Played in 14 games and scored two runs for the Gauchos ... At catcher, swept up 30 putouts, two assists and one runner caught stealing. Ten of those putouts were from the debut game of the season at Fresno State (Feb. 15).
2012 :Initially expected to provide a strong arm in the bullpen, Campbell rose to the occasion as a backup catcher after injuries hindered the Gaucho catching corps ... Started 13 games behind the plate and appeared in 25 overall ... Had 10 assists without committing an error ... Recorded his first career hit against Pacific on Apr. 21 and had two RBIs in a game against Cal State Bakersfield on May 25.
High School: A three-year letterwinner for head coach Jon Posternack at Point Loma High ... He pitched, played third base and catcher for the Pointers ... His sophomore year, Campbell was awarded Rookie of the Year for his team, batting .394, with 19 RBI, seven doubles, one triple, one home run, and he pitched 13 innings with a 2-0 record, striking out seven ... As a junior, he batted .294, with 20 RBI, five doubles, one triple, and one home run ... Also pitched 37 innings, with a 4-3 record, striking out 24 with three complete games ... In his senior year, he was voted First Team All-Western League, batting .320, with 17 RBI, six doubles, one triple, two home runs, and he pitched 21 innings, with a 2-2 record, striking out 19, and completing three games ... All three years he played, his team made CIF appearances ... Campbell was also on the Honor Roll for four consecutive years with a 3.75 cumulative grade point average.
