Emily Holland joined the UCSB baseball staff as the Director of Baseball Operations in September of 2018. 

“We’re very excited to have Emily as a part of our staff here at UCSB,” said Checketts. “Not only does she bring valuable experience from her time at Washington, but her positive attitude, work ethic and passion for the game will be a welcome addition to our program.”

Holland got her start in baseball as a Corporate Partnership Services and Marketing Intern with the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, while simultaneously serving as a Recruiting Intern with the Huskies in the fall of 2017. She quickly ascended to the Assistant Director of Operations and Marketing by January, where she played an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the staff.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity Coach Checketts has given me to be a part of Gaucho Baseball,” said Holland. “I’m excited to learn from the country’s most respected coaches and I can’t wait to see how far we can go with the elite talent we have on the field.”

Holland recently completed her master’s degree of education in intercollegiate athletic leadership in June and received her bachelor of arts in sociology from Loyola Marymount, where she spent three seasons as a student-athlete on the women’s rowing team.
