2017: A true junior, Plantier made 15 appearances and seven starts (all at first base) ... Slashed .208/.345/.333 for the year with one home run, two RBIs, and three walks over 24 at-bats ... His sole home run for the season came on Apr. 30 at UC Riverside as part of a 6-5 win ... His two-run roundtripper put the Gauchos up 3-2 at the time ... Appeared in eight of the team's first 15 games ... Singled against Kentucky on Mar. 3 for his first hit of the year ... Had hits in three straight games, all starts, from Apr. 30 to May 9 ... Had a pinch-hit single against Cal Poly on May 19 in his final plate appearance of the campaign ... Had one hit in four-pinch hit ABs ... Batted .286 with the bases empty. 

2016: In his second year in the program, Plantier appeared in 43 games with 38 starts (25 at first base, 13 at DH) ... Slashed .191/.312/.244 in 131 at-bats with five extra-base hits, 16 RBIs, 12 walks, and 27 strikeouts ... Despite low average, made some of the most consistent hard contact on the team ... Snagged three stolen bases in four attempts ... Was the starting first baseman on Opening Day ... Was hit by a pitch 12 times in 2016, third-most on the team and 10th-most in the Big West ... Batted .261 (6-23) in the postseason with a pair of RBIs ... Was 1-7 in the College World Series, notching his one hit against Arizona on Jun. 22 ... Went 2-5 in the Super Regional at Louisville, including a solid game two in which he was 1-1 and reached base three times ... Had three hits in 11 at-bats in the Nashville Regional at Vanderbilt ... High School:  Played four varsity years at Temecula Valley High School under head coach Tony Nobiensky ... Played all infield positions besides first base for the Golden Bears ... As a senior, hit .412 with 20 runs, 40 hits, 31 RBIs, eight doubles, three home runs, and just five strikeouts ... Was named the CIF Division II Player of the Year following his senior year. Was also named to the All-Southwestern League First Team and All-State First Team ... As a junior, batted .400 with 25 runs, 36 hits, 29 RBIs, 10 doubles, and three home runs ... Was League MVP after his junior year while being named to the All-CIF, All-State, and All-Area First Teams ... Won a CIF Championship in 2014, defeating Aliso Niguel High School ... Reached the CIF Playoffs in all four of his high school years ... Also competed in football as a quarterback, earning First Team All-League honors as a junior.
