UC Santa Barbara alumnus Alexis Kakuk returned to the Gaucho Baseball program in the fall of 2024 as the Director of Baseball Operations. She returns to her alma mater after spending a year in a similar role at Loyola Marymount University.
 
As the Lions’ Chief of Staff, Kakuk managed the team’s equipment and travel logistics, as well as overseeing multiple student-intern teams and serving as the main contact for MLB scouts visiting the ballpark. She also assisted in marketing, fundraising and summer camp operations.
 
Kakuk was a member of the baseball program in a variety of roles during her time as a student at UC Santa Barbara, assisting with operational management and marketing efforts for the Gauchos. She graduated with Dean’s Honors in 2023 with degrees in Economics and Spanish. Kakuk also holds a Sports Management Certificate from UC Santa Barbara.
 
A native of Camarillo, Kakuk has also volunteered with the Special Olympics and was the Lead Operations Intern for the Conejo Oaks summer league baseball team for five years.
