Graduated for Archbishop High School…In high school he competed in the 500 Freestyle, 200 IM (school record holder), 200 Medley relay, and 200 Freestyle relay…Swam for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics…With his club team he competed in the 400 IM (club record holder), 200 Breaststroke, and 1500 Freestyle…Biggest accomplishments before college included qualifying for US Winter Nationals, 3x USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, and 3x WCAL Champion.
PERSONAL
Daniel “Dan” Marella was born on May 9th, 2000…Majoring in Communication with a Music minor at UCSB…Chose UCSB to continue his career because of the academics, team cohesiveness, location, and the coaches…Played basketball competitively through 6th grade…Was awarded the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival Solo Award and the Gary Braia Service Award…Lists his pre-race pump up song as San Diego by The Cautious…Enjoys playing music and eating food in his free time…Has the goals of helping UCSB build a successful legacy, win conference, qualify for NCAA’s, and compete at Olympic Trials.
