HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Regis Jesuit High School…Swam under Coach Nick Frasersmith…Began first swim season in January of 2016 and later qualified for the state meet in 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, led the team to finish second in the state…Biggest achievements before college include getting All-American in the 200 freestyle relay at the Colorado 5A State Meet and earning All-American honors.

Fischer “Fish” Basham was born April 22, 1998…Is majoring in Biological Anthropology at UCSB with hopes of becoming a scientist or historian someday…Ran cross country and 400m in track all 4 years of high school…Enjoys going to the beach, sleeping, and reading outside of the pool…One unique skill is that he can ski a double black diamond…Lists his top pre-race pump up song as “In Da Club” by 50 Cent…Enjoys snacking on dinosaur chicken nuggets before a meet…Began swimming at age 17 during his senior year of high school…Favorite aspect of college swimming is training and competing at a high level…If he could add an event to each meet it would be a 25 meter underwater race…Has goals to continually become better by training smart and improving technique.
