Graduated from Capistrano Valley High School...Swam under Coach Steve Yancey...Earned All-American honors...Held several team records...Swam with a team that won League Championships all 4 years, were back-to-back CIF Champions, and National Duel Meet Champions...Also swam club with the Mission Viejo Nadadores under Coach Bill Rose...Held several team records in age group swimming.

Matthew, "Matt," Chalcarz was born September 26, 1996...Is an Economics major at UCSB and aspires to own his own business someday...Enjoys surfing and playing basketball in his free time...Lists his top pre-race pump up song as "Lose My Mind" by The Calling...Enjoys snacking on mangoes before a meet...Began swimming at age 6...Favorite aspect of college swimming is the team unity...If he could add an event to each meet it would be the 25 freestyle cork screw...Being the 2013 High School National Duel Meet Champions is the proudest achievement of his swimming career.
