Graduated from Henry M. Gunn High School after transferring in as a sophomore from Seijo Gakuen in Tokyo, Japan…Went to state championships two years in a row and qualified for a third time before cancellation due to COVID-19…Swam breaststroke leg of record-holding 200 Medley Relay.

Shogo Moridaira was born on June 27, 2001 to parents Shigeo and Mariko Moridaira ­­­­­­­­in Tokyo, Japan…Moved to Palo Alto, Calif. from Tokyo by himself during sophomore year of high school and lived with a host family…Has a younger brother Shunsuke…Majoring in Economics and minoring in Statistics and has the goal of starting his own business…Favorite athlete is Kosuke Kitajima…Most memorable sports moment was making A-Final at 2019 Winter Junior Nationals…Favorite movie is Fast and Furious…Hobbies include watching movies and spending time with family and friends. Also recruited by University of the Pacific and UCSD.
