Santa Barbara native Blake Muller was named Head Coach on August 16, 2021, after spending seven seasons as an assistant or Associate Head Coach in the program.

During the 2024 season, Muller led the Gauchos to a 15-7 overall record and a perfect 6-0 record against Big West opponents. The Gauchos won The Big West regular season title and were the No. 1 seed in The Big West Championships. Again Santa Barbara made it to the Championship Final but could not pull out a victory to send them back to the NCAA Team Tournament. The Gauchos were bested by No. 2 seed UC Irvine 4-1. Although the team did not receive an at-large bid to the tournament, athletes Pablo Masjuan and Gianluca Brunkow earned automatic qualifying spots in the NCAA National Singles and Doubles Tournament. Pablo Masjuan went on to receive All-American status after making it to the Round of 16 before falling to the No. 15-ranked player, Cooper Williams from Harvard.

In the 2022-23 season, Muller would lead UC Santa Barbara to a 22-4 overall record and a 5-1 conference record. The 22 wins are a program single-season record. Muller would go on to be named The Big West and ITA Southwest Region Coach of the Year. Muller coached five All-Conference award winners and The Big West Player of the Year, Phillip Jordan. The Gauchos swept through the Conference Championships earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Gauchos would play the University of San Diego in the first round falling 4-1.

In his first season at the helm of the UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis program, Muller led the team to a 17-6 overall record and a 6-1 record in The Big West. The Gauchos would reach the Big West Championship Final but fell 4-2 to UC Irvine. Five Gauchos would earn All-Big West honors.

The 2018-19 ITA Southwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year, Muller was elevated to the head spot following the retirement of Marty Davis and a national search.

A 2009 graduate of Stanford with degrees in communication and political science, Muller was a four-year member of the men's tennis team. Playing primarily at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots in the lineup, he posted 67 career singles victories. In doubles, he played mostly in the No. 1 slot and recorded 77 victories.

In addition to his prowess on the court, Muller was an outstanding student. He was a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete, a two-time Academic All-American and a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic selection.

Muller was a two-time All-American at Santa Barbara High School. He was a three-time Channel League singles champion and Most Valuable Player and a two-time All-CIF selection. He made the CIF singles final in 2004 and the semifinals in 2005.
