Won his first dual singles match as a Gaucho (Jan. 17).

PRIOR TO UC SANTA BARBARA: Played at University of Louiseville for two years...Won six of his last seven singles matches between courts three and four...Won seven of his last eight doubles matches...Recorded singles victories in both of Louisville’s ACC Tournament matches as a sophomore..Finished his freshman spring season with a 7-3 record in singles on court six and a 12-10 record in doubles.

HIGH SCHOOL: Ranked as high as No. 220 in the ITF Junior Rankings...Made finals appearances at U16 and U18 Spanish championships...Won the Spanish U13 championship...Advanced to the quarterfinal showings of the J2 Valencia (Spain), J3 Maaseik (Belgium) the J4 Majadahonda (Spain).

PERSONAL: Son of Juan Avendaño and Marta Cadena...Has one sibling, Juan...Hopes to play professionally after college.
