HIGH SCHOOL
Played at pitcher and first base at Warren High School under coach Mary Starkson…She led a strong Bears program to four consecutive San Gabriel League Championships and to four CIF Playoff appearances…As a senior, she completed the year with the school’s second-highest batting and slugging percentages…She also completed her senior season with a 1.00 fielding percentage with over 100 plays (105 putouts), tying for the top mark in California…In 2015, she batted for .526, had an OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 1.516, along with eight home runs…She had one of her best performances as a senior with the first being in the La Mirada Tournament game versus Gahr when she went 3-3 with bases clearing triple, double, and single, scoring two runs with four RBIs to win the championship…She also homered in each CIF playoff game in her senior campaign…She was named first-team all-league as a senior, and was also named Warren HS’s Most Inspiring Athlete as well as the school’s top female athlete in receiving the Golden Bear award…Her success in high school softball was evident since her freshman year when she batted for .400 and slugged seven home runs…She also played water polo in her first two years of high school, as she helped the Bears win the Div. 6 CIF Championship as a freshman as well as a pair of league titles…As a sophomore, she was named all-league as a goalkeeper…Also successful in the classroom, she was named a Stauffer Scholar-Athlete all four year, won the Women’s Engineering Award as a junior, made the academic honor roll all eight semesters by PTSA, and finished her high school career with a 3.9 GPA.

Whitney Taylor Pemberton was born on Jan. 6, 1997 in Downey, Calif. to parents Dorothy and Alan…She has an older sister named Shelby…Her favorite athletic achievement was batting over .500 in her senior season after spending the previous two years recovering from injury and surgery…Roots for the Los Angeles Dodgers…Favorite movies are Phantom of the Opera, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Fast & Furious…Enjoys watching Pretty Little Lairs, Big Bang Theory, and Game of Thrones…Favorite music artists are Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, and the Jonas Brothers…In her free time, she likes to swim, draw, play the piano, and watch Netflix…Was also recruited by UCLA, Washington, Oregon, and Missouri…Majoring in economics and accounting, as she looks to pursue a career as an accountant.
