Biography

2014-2015
Competed for the Gauchos in six competitions during his freshman track campaign. Placed 11th at the Big West Double Dual, finishing the 400m in 50.49. Ran a season best in the 400m of 50.14 at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic. Also ran 22.86 in the 200m at the UCR Spring Track Classic. Ran 50.21 to place 7th in the 400m at the Big West Challenge Cup. At the Challenge Cup he ran a 22.58 season best in thde 200m. Helped the Gauchos to a 4 x 100m victory at the Cal Poly Dual, bringing the baton around in 41.86. Placed third in the 200m at the CP Dual, taking an important scoring position for the victorious Gaucho men's team. 

Prep
Hennies comes to UCSB via Acalanes HS where he excelled in the sprinting events. He claimed the Diablo Foothill Athletic League 400m title as a senior, clipping off a 49.69 one lap effort. Hennies earned DFAL first team honors for his one lap work which also included a leg on the Acalanes school record setting 4 x 400m relay at the NCS Meet of Champions- there the Dons finished in 3:18.49, also establishing a DFAL record. Hennies saved his best for last, running a lifetime best in the 400m at the NCS Meet of Champions in 49.11, placing fourth overall. Prep coach was multiple time Oregon All-American David Kletch.  

Personal 
Parents are Susan and Dean...Has one sister, Jessica...Majoring in Economics at UCSB...Aspires to become an Entrepreneur & Investment Banker...Enjoys snowboarding...Also ran cross country all four years at Acalanes...Favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck.
