Biography
2014-2015
Ziegler, a former 400m prep runner, stepped up to the 800m during his debut season in the UCSB blue. Ziegler opened the year with a 1:58.10 performance at the Round-Up, placing eighth overall. Lowered his time two weeks later at the All-UC, running 1:56.43, placing sixth for the Gauchos. At the Big West Double Dual he continued to lower his 800m time as he finished with a new best of 1:56.13. At the Big West Challenge he placed 11th with a 1:58.51 two-lap clip.
Prep
Ziegler comes to UCSB via Bishop O'Dowd HS where he starred in a verity of events for the Dragons. Ziegler was twice a medalist at the WACC League Championships in the 400m, earning silver as a senior and bronze as a junior. As a senior he would go on to record a personal best in the 400m at the NCA Bayshore Championships at 50.20. As a senior he helped the Dragons capture the WACC League title in the 4 x 400m relay. He was named team captain for his football and track teams.
