Biography

2016-2017

Competed nine times for his junior year. Started things off strong with a 1:55.80 at the Gaucho Round Up. Captured a win at the All-UC Challenge in the 400m, running 49.25 for a new collegiate best. Also ran 49.54 at the UCLA Legends Invite for 4th place in his heat. Finished the season with an 8th place finish in the 4 x 400m at the Big West Conference Track and Field Championships.  

2015-2016

Ran five meets for his second season. Set his season's best at 400m at the Big West Double Dual, running 50.36. Eventually cut the season short due to injury. 

2014-2015 

Ran in seven meets for the Gauchos during his freshman track campaign. Ran a season best in the 400m at the Cal Poly Dual, placing fifth with a time of 49.78. 

Prep

DeHaven comes to the Gauchos as an accomplished 400m runner. He led Granite Hills to the CIF State Championships in the 4 x 400m relay as a senior. They would go on to finish 5th in the championship final. His prep best of 48.99 came at the Grossmont/Valley Conference meet. He finished fourth in the CIF San Diego S.S. Championships in the 400m.  Also competed in football. High school coach was Jose Barbosa. 

Personal 

Parents are Brad and Kim DeHaven...Has two siblings, Brady and Bailey...Majoring in Economics and Accounting...Enjoys hiking and video production...Favorite movie is Gladiator...Most memorable performance was qualifying to state in the 400m out of lane 8.
