Brian Guijarro is coming off a stellar freshman campaignwhere he captured two top five finishes at the Big West Track andField Championships and earned a bid into the NCAA West RegionalChampionships in the 10k. He will look to improve upon his 29:41.0410k PR set at the 2013 Mt. Sac Invitational. 


2012-2013
Guijarro burst onto the collegiate running scene in hisdebut at the Cal Nevada Championships, where he would record alifetime best in the 5,000m at 14:38.32. He set a new PR in the1500m in his second meet in the Gaucho blue at the Cal State LAInvite at 3:51.92. He secured his first NCAA West Regionalqualifying bid at the Mt. Sac Relays in the 10k with a 29:41.04performance. Guijarro had the fourth fastest qualifying mark out ofall freshman in the west region. In his first Big West Championshipmeet he would take 3rd in the 10k and 5th in the5,000m. 

Prep
Named MVP for Cross Country from10^th through12^th grade…Placed 2^nd inGolden League in 10^thgrade, 1^st inGolden League in 11^th and12^th grade…Was named All-American CrossCountry in his senior year where he was also a state finalist forTrack in the 3200m…Posted record breaking times of 14:19 inthe 2.91 mile, 14:56 in the 2.93 mile, 12:10.05 in the 3 mile, and15:07 in the 5K.
