2022 Big West Championships Track Athlete of the Meet

UC Santa Barbara

2022 Track & Field

  • Ran at six meets, ending the year by winning both the 5K (14:26.97) and 10K (30:45.27) at the Big West Championships on his way to being named Big West Track Athlete of the Meet
  • At the Bryan Clay Invitational, he set a new PR while running the second fastest 5k in UCSB history, finishing with a time of 13:55.19
  • Crossed the finish line with a new 10K personal-best of 29:31.60 at the Stanford Invitational
  • Opening his year at the UCSB Invite, he took 2nd-place in the 5k with a time of 13:59.46, setting another PR and clocking the 3rd-fastest time in the UCSB record book

2021 Cross Country

  • Competed at five meets
  • Set a new PR in the 8K at the season-opening UC Davis Stump Invite with a time of 23:52.3
  • Finished in 5th-place overall at the conference championships, helping the Gauchos win their first Big West Championship title since 2015

2021 Track & Field

  • Ran at six meets, returning to the Big West Championships at the end of the year to take silver in the 10K (32:08.46) and 8th in the 5K (14:33.72)
  • Opened the year by placing 1st at the Tri-Meet with a 14:43.84 time in the 5K

2020 Track & Field

  • Redshirt season
  • Competed at two meets before season was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic
  • Opened the year finishing 3rd at the Gaucho Round-Up in both the mile (4:18.58) and 3K (8:29.18)
  • Finished in 1st-place in the 3K (8:23.12) at the San Diego Challenge

2019 Cross Country 

  • Competed in five meets for his third season of cross. Finished 13th at the 39th Annual UC Riverside Invitational as the third scorer with a time of 24:40.3
  • Finished as the third scorer again at the Roy Griak Invitational where he was 27th in 25:30.2. Set a personal best for 8k at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational in a time of 24:15.4, the second scorer for the Gauchos and fifth overall, helping the men win the team title
  • Finished 15th at the Big West Conference Championships as the third scorer in a time of 25:13.5
  • Closed out his season at the NCAA West Regional Championships in 42nd with a 10k time of 30:45.3, the second Gacho scorer and a whole 42 spots better than his 2018 performance

2019 Track & Field 

  • Competed in eight meets for his first season of track in uniform
  • Won the 3000m at the Gaucho Round-Up in 8:32.99. Also won the 5000m at the Cal Poly/UC Riverside Tri Meet where he ran a personal best time of 14:30.22
  • Set a personal best at 1500m at the 41st Annual Aztec Invitational running 3:52.99
  • Made his track debut at 10000m at the UCLA Legends Invite where he posted up a time of 30:39.37
  • Finished first for the 3000m at the Big West Challenge in 8:34.40
  • Took second at the Cal Poly Dual 3000m where he set a personal best time of 8:21.23, putting him at No. 7 on the UCSB All-Time List for that event
  • Finished his season at the Big West Conference Championships where he placed fourth in the 10000m and second in the 5000m, barely losing the latter after taking the lead with 1000m to go and getting passed in the final 100m

2018 Cross Country 

  • Competed in six meets for his second cross season
  • Placed ninth at the Mark Covert Classic to finish in 25:02.5 for 8k
  • Was the No. 2 scorer at the Stanford Invitational to take 35th in 25:10.3
  • Set an 8k personal best at the Santa Clara University Bronco Invitational to take 25th in 24:21.4
  • Took third at the Big West Conference Championships to score for the first time in uniform in 24:40.5
  • Finished the season at the NCAA West Regional Meet in 84th with a new 10k best of 31:12.3

2018 Track & Field

2017 Cross Country

  • Competed in five meets for his first season as a Gaucho
  • Finished as the No. 2 scorer at the UC Riverside Invitational where he finished 53rd in 25:07.9
  • Took the No. 2 scoring position again at the Bill Dellinger Invitational where he set a new personal best of 24:51.8 to finish 74th
  • Took 21st at the Big West Conference Championships with a time of 25:11.0
  • Closed things out with a 31:41.8 for 10k at the NCAA West Regional Meet where he finished 105th as the No. 3 scorer

  • Athletic goal is to, "rep the NorCal like a champ and put SoCal in its place"
  • Hobbies include fishing, hunting, shooting, whiddling, hiking, and swimming
  • Fun fact: won superheavyweight hampshire class as well as novice showmanship in his rookie debut showing market lambs at the Sonoma County Fair; 4h group also won best in show for market lambs overall
