2018-2019 Track and Field
Competed in 11 meets for his third season. Set a season's best in the discus at the Triton Invitational with a mark of 44.00m (144' 4"). Took third in the shot put at the Cal Poly Dual with a throw of 15.48m (50' 9.5"). Concluded his season at the Big West Conference Championships where he finished ninth in the shot put with a season's best mark of 15.80m (51' 10").
2017-2018 Track and Field
Competed in ten meets for his second season of track and field as a Gaucho. Set a new personal best in the shot put at the UCSB/Westmont Tri Meet in 15.24m (50' 0") to take first place. Bested that mark at the 40th Annual Aztec Invitational where he threw 15.44m (50' 8") for fifth. Threw even further just a week later at the Jim Bush Invitational where he added almost half a meter to his shot put with a 15.90m (52' 2") throw. Broke 16m for the first time at the Long Beach Invitational blasting the shot all the way out to 16.02m (52' 6 3/4"). Took first at the Cal Poly Dual in the shot put, again setting another personal best in 16.64m (54' 7 1/4"), good enough for No. 9 on the UCSB All-Time List. Concluded his incredible season with a fifth place finish at the Big West Conference Championships in the shot put with a throw of 16.54m (54' 3 1/4").

2015-2016 Track and Field
Stepped into the throwing circle seven times for his freshman campaign. Set his season's best at the Gaucho Round-Up, taking first in the shot put with a throw of 14.90m (48' 11"). Also took third place at the All-UC Challenge, throwing 14.64m (48' 3/4").
Prep
Ruggles attended Jesuit High School where he competed in the throwing events for the Marauders...Ruggles won the day section of the Arcadia Invite as a senior, earning him a bid into the elite section. Had a prep best of 17.05m (55' 11 1/2") in the shot put. Threw his best in the discus at the Arcadia Invitational, hitting a throw of 48.28m (158' 5").
