Biography
2013-2014 Track
An injury setback cut short his freshman debut for the Gauchos. Competed in two competitions, the Gaucho-Round-Up and the All-Cal before ending the season. Look for Rafferty to see action in the 800m, 1,500m and in the 3,000m Steeplechase for the Gauchos.
Prep
Attended Loyola High School, where he competed in the mid-distance events focusing on the 800m. Placed second in the Mission League Finals in the 800m as a senior. Ran on the 4 x 800m squad that won the Arcadia Invitational with a time of 7:44.13. As a junior he competed on the 4 x 800m squad that took home the Mt. Sac Relays title. Earned All-Mission League honors from 2011-2013. Competed on teams that won 4 league titles in track as well as cross country. High school coach was Lalo Diaz.
Personal
Parents are Mark and Catherine...Has two sisters, Meagan and Kaitlin...Major is Undecided...Enjoys snowboarding, surfing and hiking...Favorite book is The Great Gatsby...Most memorable athletic moment was "winning the Arcadia 4 x 800m relay title."
