Biography
2014-2015
Dayao competed in seven meets for the Gauchos during his freshman campaign. Opened the year with a 48'3.25 shot put mark at the Round-Up. Upped his best at the All-UC to 48'7, placing second overall. Secured an important third for the Gauchos in the shot at the Big West Double Dual, throwing 50'2.5. Recorded a put of 49'0.75 at the Cal Poly Dual. Threw a season best in the discus also at the CP Dual, finishing with a mark of 136'7.
Prep
Dayao is a talented thrower who will be joining the Gauchos via Notre Dame High School. Dayao earned All-Mission League honors in the throws. He was a CIF-Southern Section finalist in the shot put as a junior and senior. Dayao holds a lifetime best in the shot put of 55'0.5. He has a discus best of 152'7. Dayao was also voted to the L.A. Daily News All-Conference Team as a 1st team defensive lineman. He was the Sierra League Defensive Lineman of the Year with 52 tackles and 11 sacks. High school coach was Nick Garcia.
