2014-2015
Competed in six competitions for the Gauchos in his sophomore season. Rodriguez opened the year with a 48'10.75 toss in the shot put at the Round-Up. Placed fourth in the Round-Up in the discus with a throw of 147'0. Threw 152'4 in the hammer at the UCR Spring Track Classic. Recorded a shot mark at the UCR Classic of 49'8. Threw 146'6 in the discus at the Big West Challenge. Placed seventh at the BW Challenge in the shot with a throw of 49'7. Threw 49'8 in the shot at the Bryan Clay Invite. Threw a lifetime best in the hammer of 161'9 at the Cal Poly Dual. 

2013-2014 
Rodriguez brought depth to the Gaucho throw corps, seeing action in the discus, shot and hammer.   Opened the season with a 48'2 performance in the shot put to place second at the Gaucho Round-Up. Took fourth overall in the shot put at the All-Cal with a mark of 49'0.75. Upped his mark to 49'5.5 at the UCR Dual Meet. Found his breakthrough at the Cal-Nevada Championships in the shot put, firing off a throw of 50'2.5. At the Big West Challenge Cup he placed fifth with a throw of 49'11.25. Set a personal best at the Bryan Clay Invitational, launching a throw of 50'8 which qualified him for the final where he finished eighth overall. At the Cal Poly Dual Meet he helped lead the Gauchos to victory by placing third with a mark of 50'1.25. Rodriguez threw a seasons best in the discus at the Cal-Nevada Championships with a mark of 138'7. At the Big West Championships he placed 12th overall with a mark of 48'8. 

Prep
Attended Saugus High School, where he was a two sport athlete for the Centurions. Placed in the top two at the Mission League Finals in the shot and discus as a senior. Was a gridiron force in the trenches for the Centurions. Won Foothill League Lineman of The Year Honors as a senior. Also named to CIF Southern Section All-Defensive team.

Parents are Sergio and Rosie Rodriguez...Has one brother, Desi, who played QB at the Air Force Academy...Major is Undeclared...Enjoys listening to music...Favorite book is Catcher in The Rye.
