Biography
2014-2015 Track
Opened the year at the Round-Up, stepping up to the mile with a 4:30.75 finish. Tried his hand at the 3,000m steeplechase at the All-UC, recording a 10:25.08 finish. Ran the 800m in 1:55.37 at the Big West Double Dual before an injury sidelined the rest of his season.
2014 Cross Country
Opened the year with a 27:30.27 8k performance at the Lagoon Race. Lowered his 8k best one week later at the Riverside Invite, finishing in 26:18.1. Recorded his highest cross finish of the year at CSU San Bernardino, placing 27th with a 26:51.6 outing. Ran a new lifetime best clip of 26:05.7 at the Titan Invitational, good for 35th overall.
2013-2014 Track
Competed in twelve race for the Gauchos in his first season wearing the UCSB blue. Placed third at the All-UC in the 800m with a time of 1:55.25. Came back at the UCR Dual met and took fourth with a time of 1:55.35. At the Cal-Nevada Championships he qualified for the final with a time of 1:54.05. He placed ninth overall after running 1:55.82 in the final. Ran a best time of 1:52.91 at the Big West Challenge, taking fourth for the Gauchos. At the OXY Invite he ran 1:53.04.
Prep
Morgenson attended Dana Hills High School where he exceleld in the mid-distance events. Was the 2013 South Coast League Champion in the 800m, where he set the League record in 1:52.85. Helped guide Dana Hills to cross country and track and field South Coast Legue Championships. High school coaches were Tim Butler and Craig Dunn.
