Biography

2014-2015
Obbards saw action in seven competitions during his freshman track campaign. Helped the Gauchos to a second place 4 x 100m showing at the All-UC, finishing in 42.05. Ran 11.21 in the 100m at the Big West Double Dual, placing third. At the Big West Challenge Cup, Obbards delivered an 11.17w performance in the 100m. Helped the Gauchos win the short relay in the Cal Poly Dual, bringing the baton around in 41.86. Placed third in the Dual in the 100m, finishing in 11.16. 

Prep
Obbards will be an electric sprinter for the Gauchos after leading the Diablos of Mission Viejo to a third place finish at the 2014 CIF-SS D2 Finals. His 100m best of 10.86 was set at the South Coast League Finals where he earned runner-up honors. At the CIF-SS D2 Prelims he lit up the track with a wind-aided 10.78, earning a bid to the finals. His best 200m time of 21.96 also came at the CIF-SS Prelims. 

Personal 
Parents are Kim and JD Obbards...Has one sibling, Mason...Majoring in Communications at UCSB...Aspires to get into business marketing...Hobbies include: Motocross, paintball, snowboarding and surfing...Plays the piano and guitar.
