Attended Martin Luther King High School in Riverside. WonAll Big-8 League honors as a junior and senior in cross country.Big-8 runner-up in he 800m twice, as a junior and senior. Finishedsecond in the CIF-SS Division 1 finals in the 800m during hissenior year. Holds the MLK High School record in the 800m at1:52.63. Also member of school record setting 4 x 400m, 4 x 800m, 4x 1600m and DMR squads for the Wolves. High school coaches wereBrad Peters and John Corona. Also played club soccer for RFC Milan.
