Pearson rose to the challenge at the Big WestChampionships his junior year and found a lifetime best in thetriple jump at 47'7 on his last attempt, moving from eighth tosixth place overall. He will go into his senior year as the leaderof the Gaucho jump crew. Look for him to challenge for spots in theUCSB all-time list in the triple jump and longjump. 

2013-2014 Track 
During his junior season, Pearson emerged as the leader ofthe Gaucho jump corps. On his last attempt in the triple jump atthe Big West Championships he moved from 8th to 6th place with anew lifetime best leap of 47'7. Set a new lifetime best in the longjump at the Big West Challenge to take second with a leap of23'0.5. Won both the long and triple jumps at the Cal Poly Dual forthe Gauchos with marks of 23'0 and 44'8 respectively. Opened theyear with a long jump win at the Gaucho-Round Up with a leap of22'11.25. 

2012-2013 Track 
Opened the 2013 season with a lifetime best in the triple jump at46'. Had four other competitions over 45' during the 2013 outdoorcampaign, including a 45'10.5 leap to win the Cal Poly Dual Meet.Also won the UC Riverside Dual meet with a jump of 45'8.5. Set anew lifetime best in the long jump at the Cal Poly Dual Meet at23'2.5w.

2011-2012
Pearson competed in long jump and triple jump throughout the2012 season…Posted a season best of 6.29m in long jumpand 44'4.25 in triple jump.

Prep
Pearson was Tri-County Athletic League champion in the triplejump...Second farthest jump in school history in the triple jumpand second fastest in the 300m hurdles...Lettered in both track andfootball.

Personal
Son of Gladys Mejia...has four siblings, Jesus, Abraham, AlfonsoValdez and Alba Roland...Was on honor roll all four years of highschool...Was senior class Vice President...Enjoys writing, watchingmovies, being active and listening to music in his free time...Allsix members of his family played football at the same high schooland all wore the number 7...Favorite movies are "Pulp Fiction","Fight Club"...Favorite books are "A Clockwork Orange", "FightClub", and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"...Favorite athletes are AdrianPeterson, Walter Payton, and Steve Prefontaine.
