2014-2015
Leach competed in ten competitions for the Gauchos in his sophomore campaign. Opened the year with a 49'2.5 effort in the shot put at the Round-Up, placing second. Threw 48'0.5 at the All-UC, placing third in the shot. At the Big West Double Dual he placed second in the hammer with a throw of 176'7. Placed third at the UCR Spring Track Classic in the hammer with a throw of 175'5. Recorded a hammer throw of 172'9 at the Stanford Invite. Placed fifth at the Big West Challenge in the shot put with a throw of 51'3. At the Triton Invite Leach threw a then-best 152'0 in the discus. Threw 173'11 in the hammer, placing second for the Gauchos at the Cal Poly Dual. At the Big West Championships Leach hit a lifetime best in the discus, throwing 152'9.

2012-2013
Saw action in nine meets as a freshman. Hit a seasons best shot mark at the Big West Challenge of 47'7.75. Took second in the hammer at the Gaucho Round-Up and third at the Cal Poly Dual Meet. Set a seasons best in the discus of 135'5 at the Cal Poly Dual Meet. 

Prep
Attended Carmel High School where he competed in the throws. Qualified for the CIF State Meet as a senior after winning the CCS Championships in the Shot Put. Won his first 10 competitions as a senior in the shot put en route to his state qualifying bid including the MTAL Championships. Was a 2011 and 2012 All League Award winner in track and field. Holds the Carmel HS record in the shot put at 57'9.
