  • Earned the Big West Defensive Player of the Week on 10/11 to go along with her offensive power

EASTERN WASHINGTON

Vanderhyden came to UCSB after competing her first two seasons at Eastern Washington...As a freshman in 2017, she played in 22 games, making 10 starts…Her first collegiate goal was the game-winner in a 2-1 overtime victory at North Dakota on Oct. 6…Also tallied an assist for a career-high three points...Dished four assists which tied for second on the team…Her .18 assists per game ranked 10th in the conference…Took 18 shots, seven of which were on goal…Averaged .82 shots per game and .27 points per game…Selected to the Big Sky Fall All-Academic Team...As a sophomore in 2018, Vanderhyden appeared in 12 games, making 12 starts during her second year as an Eagle...Took 23 shots, 11 of which were shots on goal giving her a shots per game average of 1.92, tying for eighth in the Big Sky Conference in total shots taken per game…Scored two goals on the year during EWU’s matches against CSU Bakersfield, which was a game winner, and Idaho State giving her a goals per game average of .17.

CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL
Vanderhyden was a three-time letter winner at Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, Calif....The midfielder helped the Broncos to two-straight Southwestern League Championships, which marked the first time in program history that VMHS won the league...Played her club soccer for Arsenal FC, where she won a state tilte back in 2014. A good leader on and off the field, Vanderhyden was named the team captain of both of high school and clubs teams.
