HIGH SCHOOL
Played as a pitcher/utility at Bullard HS under coach Jaime Maxey…She led the Knights to four consecutive conference championships, while was a four-time First Team All-CMAC player and two-time all-league pitcher of the year…In her career, she had 50 wins (third-most in school history) and 353 strikeouts (fifth-most) through 444 innings pitched (third-most)…Though a pitcher, Puente also hit for the Knights, as she finished with a .319 batting average, .373 on-base percentage, and a .394 slugging percentage as a senior…In her junior year, she hit for .321, slugged for .405, and had an obp of .402...Those figures helped her earn three consecutive MVP awards and the 2012 Like a Knight Award.
